About

I have been interested in the performing arts since the age of 7, but started to take both things seriously at 17. I trained as a classical violist at Leeds College of Music gaining a BA(Hons). Since then I have learnt to improvise in different genres of jazz and folk, mainly on violin, mandolin and tenor banjo. As a circus/variety performer, my only disipline was ball juggling for 8 years until I became interested in the subjects history. Now I perform a large variety of balancing and multi tasking skills, as well as ball spinning and ring rolling tricks. Please watch some videos on the juggling page.

As a performer, I can either work as a solo performer or as part of an ensemble. Musically, I have played with string quartets, orchestras, pit bands, jazz, folk and rock bands and as a solo perfomer with piano accompnaiment. As a juggler, I have 5 stage acts, but also feel at home doing street shows and 'walkabout'. Past clients include the BBC, Manchester United, David Hockney and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Please look at the music and juggling pages for my current projects.

I also teach the skills I perform, I was lucky enough to win the Classicfm music teacher of the year award 2013 for my work conducting the orchestras at the North Leeds Music Centre. I love teaching circus at all levels, I have given a huge number of starter workshops in schools and at community events over the last decade, as well as teaching keen amateurs and profestionals at juggling conventions in 5 different countries.
